Dust & Dancing...

The last four days have been an amazing whirlwind.
A 6 or so hour drive south to the Festival grounds in Laura... with only one flat tyre (amazing)... Luckily Caleb had some help changing it from our backseat drivers Zaffy & Lynette...

Lockhart River kicked up a dust storm at the Laura Festival.
It was a beautiful weekend of hanging out in the camp with the community, being costume coordinator for the young lady dancers, and feeling entranced by the spectacular traditional dance throughout the festival...

It was a truly amazing weekend... both Caleb & I felt so proud to be apart of such a strong, empowered community.
The Laura Festival gives remote communities in Cape York a rare chance to not only showcase their traditional culture to the outside world but to also come together as a community to celebrate the very essence of what it means to be Aboriginal...

Now we are back home we are left attempting to remove the dust from everything, including ourselves and cherishing the good times that were had...
Love, dust & dancing xox
