I am here, in the now

It's been a while.....
I wish I could commit to making more of an effort to blog but in amongst the washing of nappies, the cooking of soul food, digging in the vegetable garden, walking the dogs, going to the markets, and the keeping of our nest -
time just seems to slip on by.

My beautiful boy Ba'il is growing so beautifully. He's discovered his body and how he can control movements. He's crawling everywhere, smiling at everything and absolutely loving his food. I am so complete when he smiles at me - the world just stops when his face lights up with love and life.

I guess I've just been completely absorbed in living in the 'now'.

Through Small Eyes ~ Tropical days

A perfect family Sunday spent wondering through the meandering paths of the Cairns Botanical Gardens. Senses awakening to the beauty of tropical days and the lush colours of growing up in pure paradise. What a lucky little boy to be surrounded by such abundance.

In the nest

Our little home is feeling complete after transforming our front yard into a totally organic vegetable/edible garden.... it's a work in progress, but hey what in life isn't a work in progress? I wish I could grow patience as easily as I grow cherry tomatoes!

I must admit that we have been so busy lately that it was in need of some desperate love and attention so we dedicated the weekend to pouring a whole lot of love into what will soon be our dinner!

It makes living away from the wilderness that little bit more bearable and it's just so exciting to know that soon these vegetables will be ready for my little chief to eat!

Ngaachi's New Look...

As he grows.... so does my blog.
My little contribution to making cyberspace that little bit more homely, loving and alive.

Hoping your liking the new look as much as I am.

A space to scribble about love, life, soul mothering, family, cultural aesthetics and sustainable living. A celebration of belonging, connection, place and home - the complete definition of ngaachi (traditional language of the Kuku Ya'u people of Cape York).

I would love to know what you think....
So please follow my adventures and don't be shy to leave a comment.

Bringing Boy Ba'il Home....

We bought our Ba'il boy home for the first time last week....
to his homeland in the Cape York wilderness ~ Lockhart River.
Boy was it a special occasion!
He must of known he was going home because the 12 hour four wheel driving adventure didn't phase him one bit (luckily)!

A week filled with the divine company of our beautiful friends, ocean breeze, sand between our toes, cuddles from elders, NAIDCO week celebrations and that lush Cape York sunshine!

So many precious memories for our little chief.
Totally immersed into culture and the wild wilderness.
